Just Tri It Youth Triathlon
Participant Info
Dear Parent/Guardian of a Just Tri It Youth Triathlon participant,
The following are a few items to remember prior to race morning, also, please find attached a map of the event venue to help guide you on Saturday morning.
The following are items to keep in mind, in no particular order of importance.
Packet pick up: Friday, July 31st at the Manhattan Running Company or race morning at City Park Pool.
Please remember that every participant must have a BIKE HELMET. No participants will be allowed out of the Transition Area on their bike without a helmet.
Race morning, please plan to arrive early on race morning, this will allow you to find your parking location and to walk to the City Pool.
As with last year, all participants will enter through the main entrance of the pool. Please bring your bike and all gear with you. Once you have entered the pool you will need to either pick up your packet or go straight to Transition Area Check In, if you already have your packet and timing chip.
Parents, similar to last year, parents will not be allowed in the transitions area. We have a group of volunteers that will take your young athlete to the their correct transition area location and help them set up. The reason we do this is that with increasing numbers of participants the transition area can get very congested so we are doing are best to make sure we maintain as much order in the transition area as possible. New for this year will be separate transition areas for Junior age group racers and Senior age group racers. This will help alleviate some of the congestion.
Body Marking will occur at the exit of the Transition Area after the volunteers have helped them put their bikes in place.
We will be starting the Senior racers first this year, ages 11 to 16 and then following with the junior racers, ages 5 to 10.
Pro Tip: Please place the timing chip on the left ankle, this will ensure that there is no chance it could get caught in the bike chain and cause issues.
Awards and post-race snacks will be located under the big top tent that will be located just west of the transition area.
Final reminder, please remember that once your participant has finished the event, that there are still other participants racing and to keep clear of the race course.
Please be sure to check the weather as race day approaches and be prepared. In the event of severe weather, the event will be postponed incrementally in accordance with City of Manhattan requirements. The event will be postponed a maximum of 1 hour and 30 minutes before it is cancelled. In the event of rain showers the race will commence on schedule. Please remember that in the event of a cancellation, there are no refunds, your entry fee is a donation to the Manhattan Parks and Recreation Foundation.
Thanks again for participating in the 15th annual Just Tri It Youth Triathlon.
Remember – SWIM + BIKE + RUN = FUN
Hope you have FUN!
